Edguy, the well-known power metal band, will perform at the next edition of the Bang Your Head Festival; the band will perform on June 22nd 2007.
Here is the statement that frontman Tobias Sommet has posted on the band's official page:
"Ladies and gentlemen, dear posers and pandas! May I ask for your attention please: It's been seven long years without Edguy at Germany's prestigious Bang Your Head festival in Balingen. Well, people tried to make the best of it, accepted the tough facts and fought their way through those hard times somehow.
First of all, we want to take the opportunity to stress how much we acknowledge that this festival has survived hard times even without us. ;-) But every black cloud has its silver lining and there's always light at the end of the tunnel. We can proudly announce that by 2007 these hard times will have come to an end. On Friday, June 22nd, 2007 we're going to headline Bang Your Head festival! And you can be assured that we'll work our asses off to make you and ourselves have a great time!"

The Keep It True VII Festival organizers have issued the following statement:
"Finally we can present the replacement for FLOTSAM & JETSAM.. ROSS THE BOSS will play another "Night OF Early Manowar" with a complete different Setlist at KIT 7. It was not easy to get a good replacement in the short time we have, but I think with the amazing RTB band we got the best we could have. KIT 7 is already sold out and we cannot sell any more tickets here".
The reason of the missing of FLOTSAM & JETSAM at Keep It True Festival is that they have cancelled their complete european tour.
Here is the statement from drummer Craig Nielsen:
"Just checking in to explain the European tour cancellation, as the agents who I expected to give a reason in their press release apparently failed to do so. A.K. applied some time ago, long before the tour was being put together, for acceptance into a helicoptor flight training academy in Arizona. He wants to be a helicoptor fire fighter which is an amazing career goal at this point in his life. Ambition does not begin to describe the scope of this undertaking. There is an extreme amount of study, determination, commitment, concentration and BALLS that are required to make it through the education. The thing was,nobody really thought he would be approved for the very large loan for the enrollment. Fortunately for him he was, although somewhat after the dates in Europe were being finalized. The band very much regrets having to postpone this tour. The Bang Your Head festival 3 months ago was a GREAT time for this band and we really were ready to take Europe by storm on this November tour. The band will definitely attempt to reschedual as soon as school for A.K.winds down. The band sincerely apologises to EVERY single person who was involved with attempting tomake this happen,and of course most of all to all of our fans that were disappointed with the latest news. The band has nothing but love for ALL OF YOU!! Flots Til Death!!"
Century Media Records unveils footage of legendary ICED EARTH "Alive In Athens" show from 1999
With ICED EARTH, Jon Schaffer created one of the most successful Power Metal bands ever. One of those reasons for their success is that ICED EARTH were always renowned as being one of the best live bands ever. Their first and only live album "Alive In Athens" was recorded at two sold-out shows on the nights of January 23rd and January 24th, 1999, at the Rodon Club in Athens, Greece. Originally released as a triple-CD and 5 picture-vinyl set in summer 1999, "Alive In Athens" entered the German charts on #55 and stayed two weeks on #1 in Greece, where it was quickly honoured with Gold status.
"Alive In Athens" was heralded by many as one of the greatest live heavy metal albums ever recorded, often named up among such hallowed company as Iron Maiden’s "Live After Death" and Judas Priest’s "Unleashed In The East" as one of the finest live albums ever captured.
Seven years after the release of "Alive In Athens", a discovery was made when raw footage of the live show itself was discovered in a discontinued archive, and out of curiosity alone the footage was immediately converted to a modern tape format and examined. Although only three cameras were present at the show, the energy and atmosphere of the material was overwhelming, and only three of the 31 live songs ("Slave to the Dark", "A Question of Heaven" and "Iced Earth") were absent or unusable due to videotape changes of the camera team. Not having known that camera footage existed from such a legendary concert, the decision was made to share the material with the world in the form of "Alive In Athens – The DVD". The audio files have been re-mastered for 5.1 DTS surround sound to offer the best quality live feeling. While not as slick as the modern 16-camera, quick-cut DVD releases found today, the fact that fans can now share the visual experience of being at the show is one that will surely be rejoiced. Some backstage footage and a Jon Schaffer interview with the German music channel VIVA TV were also unearthed and added as part of this historical performance, leaving it without the standard bells and whistles but nonetheless delivering more than 2-½ hours of the best Metal ever recorded live.

Still riding a constant wave of success, Italy’s no.1 rock export LACUNA COIL is about to celebrate a triumphant return on European stages this autumn together with label mates Poisonblack as direct support (see below for exact dates). “Closer” is destined to blow away any onset of autumnal depression with LACUNA COIL’s naturally enticing charm and a song praised for its irresistible catchiness. The radio mix and edit of “Closer” was done by Brian Malouf, whereas the livetracks have been recorded at The State Theatre in St Petersburg, FL on March 20, 2006 by Mark Prator of Red Room Recorders and have been mixed and mastered by Tom Morris at Morrisound Recording. Also included on the commercial version of the single is the brilliant video clip for “Closer”, which was directed by Zach Merck and Nathan Cox who are working together under the moniker Fort Awesome while Cox has already directed clips for Marilyn Manson, Disturbed, The Rasmus, Staind and many others.

Vehementer Nos is very proud to announce the release of its first self-tilted album on Osmose Productions late 2006.
Featuring french written lyrics and progressive/dramatic Black Metal music, the album is the result of 5 years of hard work. Performed only by real instruments (drums, guitar, bass, violin, cello, doublebass, flute), the music produced by the 2 heads band tends to narrate a dark and peotical journey through long and well crafted songs.
Line-up change in EVERGREY: bassist Michael Håkansson has - allegedly due to musical differences - left the band.
New member is Fredrik Larsson, a long-time friend and confidant of the Swedes. On their currently confirmed European tour in October and November, Evergrey will already perform with the new line-up.
This opens up a very unique opportunity for 1 individual. Instead of Luke going to the nearest design company he is giving the fans the chance to show what that can do and perhaps make a name for them selves WORLDWIDE.
The art can be any style 2d or 3d. It just has to capture the brutality and
class of the music.
The winning artist will have to chance to deal direct with the Luke and to design the album cover, inlay and art layout. The album has a world wide release and distribution with all the major magazines writing and reviewing the upcoming album.

Ten years after founding the band in 1996, Dornenreich are completing their fifth studio album "Durch den Traum".
This album - much like its predecessor, "Hexenwind", largely originating in the exceedingly prolific "Sharrketim" sessions - holds special importance for Evíga, the band"s sole artistic authority since Valnes, Dornenreich"s co-founder, left the band in spring 2006. "To me, Durch den Traum" is a timeless expression of both artistic passion and spiritual quest. Lyrically, it is an existentialist, nature-mystical journey, while musically, it is a vision beyond Black Metal, (Neo-) Folk, and Ambient. "Durch den Traum" represents the essence of Dornenreich"s music both musically and conceptually."
To this point in Dornenreich"s discography, "Durch den Traum" surely is the band"s musically most mature album. Every instrument, every sound, every musical change was used consciously, always corresponding with the lyrics that are set to music. Thus, "Durch den Traum" becomes something of a classic tone poem.
"Durch den Traum" has a very vital relationship with the previous album "Hexenwind" that, after a long wait of nearly five years, was released only twelve months ago. "While the music and lyrics of "Hexenwind" try to bring the "human being" closer to its most essential nature, often by hypnotic and meditative means, "Durch den Traum" confronts objective events in nature with the subjective passion and perception of the human being, in order to take it back home into the essence of being, into nature, even more urgently and deeply. In the end, everything is intertwined - as in a dream."
Already now, "Durch den Traum" takes a key position in Dornenreich"s discography, since its concept marks the conclusion of the all-encompassing awakening of the "human being" that started on their debut album "Nicht um zu sterben".
What"s more, the constant progress of Dornenreich"s musical abilities places great hopes in the band"s future. Evíga is confident as well: "The journey will continue, the necessary consciousness has been created."

Mick Cervino's new band, "Violent Storm" releases their album "Storm Warning" on October 23rd in Europe.
The album has been produced by KK Downing, his first production credit outside of Judas Priest, and features guest appearances from both Downing and Yngwie Malmsteen.
Mick Cervino is best known for his bass playing duties with both Malmsteen and Ritchie Blackmore.
